Rathenau, Walther
(29 sep. 1867, Berlín, Prusia–24 jun. 1922, Berlín, Alemania).

Industrial y estadista alemán. Desde 1915 encabezó el conglomerado AEG (Sociedad general de electricidad) creado por su padre, Emil Rathenau (n. 1838–m. 1915). En la primera guerra mundial, organizó la conservación y distribución de materias primas para el ministerio de guerra. En 1918 cofundó el Partido Democrático Alemán, de tendencia liberal, y apoyó la cooperación con el Partido Socialdemócrata. Después de ser ministro de la reconstrucción (1921–22), fue nombrado ministro de asuntos exteriores y negoció el tratado de Rapallo con la Unión Soviética. Injuriado por los nacionalistas radicales como judío y promotor del "comunismo solapado, murió asesinado.
